James proposed to me on July 4th - Independence Day. To him, this was a significant day to get engaged since it was then that we would declare independence from our families in order to create our own family. We wanted to get married before school started in September so we very quickly planned out our wedding with lots of help from both our families. We were married in the Albuquerque Temple.
